Tripod head film or video camera weight balancing - using force element with adjustable pitch moment arm

The arrangement is for balancing the wt. of a film or video camera attached to a swivelling tripod head in the presence of pitching motion contains a station and a rotor holding the camera. Both are in the head and are linked by an element exerting a restoring torque on the rotor about the pitch axis. The arrangement can operate with cameras of different wt. and can be adjusted to each wt. of camera better than can conventional devices. The restoring torque is adjusted to each camera wt. by a balancing device adjuster. The adjuster enables the effective length of the lever arm between the pitch axis and the point of action of the force element to be varied.
