Rubber sealing ring deformation measurement - using interchangeable cylindrical jaws with sliding or roller guide to measure deformation arising from radial force

A device measuring rubber sealing ring washer deformation after application of a radial force of a given magnitude has moving and fixed holders each with an interchangeable cylindrical measurement clamp jaw. The jaws are clamped together with between them a spring element and a distance measurement device. The measurement accuracy is higher than that of similar devices and independent of the measurement jaw configuration. No readjustment is therefore necessary when the jaws are changed. A guide in the moving holder ensures that the opposing jaw faces are absolutely parallel in all positions. The guide arrangement may consist of sliding or roller guide devices. If two equal length hinge supports are used they have a separation distance in the movement direction at least equal to their length.
