Screening process for empty reusable beer barrels - uses gas identification to check if suitable for subsequent gas refilling

Before the re-usable barrels are refilled with beer under pressure they are tested for suitablilty. To this end the propellant gas which remains in the vessel after emptying is measured for the purpose of identification and on detecting an ideal gas e.g. carbon dioxide the vessel is released for the subsequent cleaning process but if a foreign gas is detected the vessel is siezed and handled separately. This system is based on the idea that an identification of the propellant gas which has been used to empty the vessel and which now remains in same provides a clear indication as to whether the vessel is suitable for refilling following the subsequent cleaning process.
