A pair of tongs for binding up straw or the like in a bundle with rope comprises two long handle bars(1,1'), semicircular type columns(4,4') to pick up straw, a rope feading member, gripping and rotating members for making a knot and cutting member, gripping and rotating members for making a knot and cutting members in the columns. Only operating the handle bars once or twice, the rope is automatically fed, cut and knotted by the action of levers(7,7') and control gears(8,8').
