PURPOSE:To make a polymer composition including a physiologically active substance in high activity, by polymerizing a system consisting of one or more physiologically active substance, a protecting substance for it, glutaraldehyde, and a vinyl type polymerizable monomer at a specific temperature range for a given time. CONSTITUTION:A small amount of glutaraldehyde is added to a mixed solution of one or more vinyl polymerizable monomers, e.g., ethylene glycol diacrylate, etc. and a protecting substance, e.g., egg albumin, L-threonine, etc. for a physiologically active substance, to give a mixed solution. The mixed solution is added to a buffer solution which suspends or floats a physiologically active substance, e.g., an enzyme, mold, etc., and the prepared solution is allowed to stand for several hours and polymerized. Thus, a polymer composition including the physiologically active substance is prepared. |
