<p>1391722 Laminating with adhesives ISARRAKOLL CHEMIE GmbH 20 March 1972 [20 March 1971] 12803/72 Heading B5N [Also in Division C3] A surface of a substrate may be stuck to at least a part of another surface of the same substrate or at least a part of another substrate using a polyesterurethane adhesive which comprises (a) a solution of a substantially linear polyesterurethane in an inert organic solvent, the solution containing 5 to 30% by weight of polyesterurethane based on the polyesterurethane plus the solvent and (b) 0À5 to 25% by weight, based on the polyesterurethane of an organic carboxylic acid selected from oxalic acid, malonic acid, fumaric acid, tartaric acid, tartronic acid, mesoxalic acid, benzoic acid, pyromellitic acid, trichloroacetic acid, acetylenedicarboxylic acid and mixtures thereof. Most preferably the carboxylic acid is fumaric acid. The solvent may be an aromatic hydrocarbon, ketone or ester, preferably methyl ethyl ketone. A polyisocyanate may be incorporated in the composition, as may fillers, colouring agents, extenders and resins capable of improving the adhesion. One of both of the surfaces to be stuck may comprise a vulcanized natural or synthetic rubber, and in the case where only one of the surfaces to be stuck is a rubber the other may comprise a polyesterurethane or plasticized polyvinyl chloride.</p> |
