This apparatus comprises two opposite, identical and symmetrical sets of jaws (7,8) which engage between them, over a certain distance (A-B), the tube (49) of flexible packaging material; by means of the rotating discs with offset axes (1,23 and 3,25) on which the jaws are pivotably hinged at points with similarly offset axes, a kinematic mechanism consisting of an articulated parallelogram which keeps the jaws in translatory motion is formed; each jaw moreover is provided with means for effecting the transverse welding, at a constant pressure, of said tube, and for the forming of each individual container, as well as the cutting and subdivision of every two successive containers. In this way the unproductive resulting from intermittent movements of the known packaging machines is avoided. <IMAGE>
