PURPOSE:To obtain a copy of high quality by making different the polarity of more than at least a tenth area of a charged area on which an electrostatic latent image is developed simultaneously and by applying the electrostatic latent image with sticking force for toner. CONSTITUTION:This shows development in a magnetic brush method using conductive magnetic toner as a single-component system conductive toner. Magnetic toner 6, contained in hopper 7, is led out of the hopper as nonmagnetic sleeve 8 and internal permanent magnet roll 9 having axially extending magnetic poles are rotated relatively to be carried on nonmagnetic sleeve 8 by adsorption, thereby forming a magnetic brush. This magnetic brush slides in contact with the surface of electrostatic recording paper 5 to perform development. To cause discharge between charges differeing in polarity via a magnetic toner layer in this developing process, the nonmagnetic sleeve is preferably disconnected from the toner layer electrically. |
