PURPOSE:To reduce errors of a tape stop position by exercising stop control by collating a discrimination output with a stop setting condition by discriminating between the front or rear edges of marker BOT (Begin of Tape) as well as a tape running direction discrimination. CONSTITUTION:Direction discriminating circuit 1 receives the operaton state signal of a magnetic tape device to discriminate a tape running direction, and BOT marker detecting circuit 2, on the other hand, sends a signal to BOT marker edge detecting circuit 3, when detecting marker BOT of the tape, to generate an edge detection signal there. Together with the discrimination output of direction discriminating circuit 1, the edge detection signal is sent to BOT marker edge discriminating circuit 4, which discriminates whether marker BOT corresponds to the front edge or rear edge. This discrimination output is led to stop discriminating circuit 5 together with the discrimination output of direction discriminating circuit 1 and then collated there with a stop condition and when the both agree, a stop control signal is generated. |
