DIFFERENTIAL ABSOLUTE VALUE CIRCUIT

PURPOSE:To obtain a unipolar output through a simple constitution, by extracting the differential outputs of two transistors forming a differential circuit in the form of the output current as they are. CONSTITUTION:A differential circuit consists of the transistors Q1 and Q2 that use two input voltages V1 and V2 for the base input each plus the transistor Q3 to which the base bias EB is applied. The transistors Q4 and Q5 plus Q6 and Q7 are connected to the collectors of the transistors Q1 and Q2 each. At the same time, the collectors of Q6 and Q7 are set in common to each other to be led to the output terminal 3. On the other hand, the current is supplied to the collectors of Q1 and Q2 through a constant current circuit consisting of the transistors Q8-Q10. Thus either one of the currents IC6 and IC7 which are equal to the difference between the collector currents IC1 and IC2 of Q1 and Q2 according to the difference between the voltages V1 and V2 flows to the output terminal 3 in accordance with the difference of levels between IC1 and IC2. This current I0 is supplied to the indicator M in the form of the unipolar output according to the difference between V1 and V2.
