PURPOSE:To enable the microcracking of the weld zone of original plates to be detected in an early time by sticking a stripping member on the weld zone, providing an electrode member to stripping member and applying voltage between the weld zone and the electrode member. CONSTITUTION:A weld zone 2 is welded by butting original plates (carbon steel) 1, 1, and stripping paint 3 is stuck on the top surface of the weld zone 2 so that it is made stripping and provides rust-proofing effect. An electrode layer 4 is constituted of conductive paint, and a lead wire 5 is connected from this electrode layer 4 to a detector 7. DC voltage or AC voltage is applied between the original plates 1, 1 (that is, the weld zone 2) and the electrode 4. Then, the stripping member stuck to the weld zone of the tank causes a change in its resistance value or dielectric constant when a crack occurs, and if the change thereof is detected, the early discovery of the crack is made possible. |
