发明名称 SURFACE COATING MATERIAL OF TOOL
摘要 PURPOSE:To provide the surface coating material for high speed cutting tool or the like with excellent abrasion resistance and peeling resistance by imparting a coating layer of a WC base cermet containing crystalline particles with a special shape to a surface of a matrix material of a cermet tool. CONSTITUTION:On a surface of the matrix material of the cermet tool comprising at least one or more of a carbide, a carbonitride or a carboxy nitride of the Group IVa, Va and VIa metal and 2-30vol% of a ferrous metal or the like, a coating layer of the WC base cermet is provided in a thickness of 2-50mu. In said coating layer, crystalline particles of which a ratio of a min, diameter to a max, diameter is 2/5 or less are presented in said WC crystalline particles in an amount of 50wt% or more. Or, further, a layer comprising at least one or more of a metal carbide, a metal carbonitride, a metal carboxy nitride, aluminum oxide and aluminum oxy- nitride having a hardness harder than that of the matrix material is provided on said coating layer in a thickness of 1-30mu. Thereby, the coating tool material with high ductility and strong plastic deformation resistance is obtained.
