The machine comprises a tubular chassis (1) mounted on wheels (19) and pushed manually. This has a header (15) mounted transversely across it and a supply of high pressure water fed into it. Several flexible hoses (14) lead from the header and to a subframe (16) fitted to the front of the machine. This subframe is reciprocated across the machine by a motor and a transverse slid (5a). A parallel link arrangement provides a simultaneous oscillating motion to improve the scouring action of the bank of high pressure jets mounted on the subframe.
