<p>The machine for shearing rolled bars of square cross-section is mounted at the end of a rolling mill. The shearing machine has a fixed upper blade carrier (4) and a moving blade carrier (5) mounted side by side. The moving blade carrier has two blades (12a,12b) at right angles to each other to match the profile of the bar being sheared and is swung upwards about the axis XX by the hydraulic cylinder (8). The bar is supported by the fixed blades (11a,11b) which can be adjusted to suit the size and position of the bar as it emerges from the rolling mill by the second hydraulic cylinder (9). The jaws (7a) of a swing arm support the bar during the shearing operation. This arm is actuated by a third hydraulic cylinder (10).</p> |
