摘要 <p>A thermal imbalance is produced in a dynamic gas laser so that a certain degree of vibrational freedom exists in a molecular gas on the one hand and a freedom of rotation and translation on the other. A hot gas is rapidly cooled by mixing with a cold gas in a CO2 laser using a mixture of CO2 and N2. The chemical composition of the hot and cold gases can be the same or different and the same applies for the carrier gas. The mixing takes place close to the jets. The relaxation time coefficient, T, satisfies the condition Tm is much less than Tv, where Tv is the time constant for the oscillation relaxation. The mixing procedure also satisfies the condition Tm is much less than Te, where Te is the electronic excitation time constant. The method maintains translation and rotational energy as well as vibrational energy according to given formulae involving gas constants, temp. and oscillation temp.</p>
