<p>A device for the prepn of drinking water from sea water by chemical desalination is prescribed as emergency equipment for ships and aircraft in most countries. It consists of a corrugated plastic hose, with a corrosion resistant (plastic- coated)helical spring in the folds of the hose. An injection moulding technique produces a reinforced screw top for a solid connection with the filter head. The hose has a conical shape for storage in a flat folded position. This design retains its stability and flexibility even when stored at extreme temperature conditions. It takes up little storage space.</p> |
