<p>The mechanical vice secures workpieces etc. in position on grooved plates, its housing having one or more hammerhead-shaped bosses (10) engaging in the grooves. The free end of a clamping arm (2) in the bearings in the housing is pressed by a spindle (6) also in bearings in the housing, onto the workpiece (13) to be held in place. The arm can be arranged to pivot in its bearings, and can accommodate a pivoting tapped sleeve in which the screwed spindle works. There can be only one hammerhead boss, turning in relation to the housing, and a vice jaw (4) pivoting in the plane of the arm, can be mounted at its free end.</p> |
