The forming method for a wooden or chipboard panel (10) covered with e.g. a decorative plastics film (23) includes forming one or more grooves along the uncoated side, extending the full depth of the panel, then folding the panel upwards along the line of the groove. This gives a rigid corner, and if two parallel grooves are made, a return fold can be formed. Adhesive is applied to the sloping sides of the groove to form the joint (28). A half depth rectangular groove (12) is first formed by a milling cutter, than a V shaped groove (15) at one end, by a second cutter (13). A small pocket (22) is formed at the bottom of the V groove for adhesive, and the adhesive is spread over the sloping surfaces by a scraper blade.
