PURPOSE:To obtain a steady binary-coded picture signal at all times, by scanning the test chart of a plural number of tone wedges provided outside the effective picture region prior to an effective picture scan and then setting the threshold level of a proper design matrix by the result of the scan of the test chart. CONSTITUTION:The video signals obtained from the sensor driving circuit 11 are applied to the comparators 12-15, and the reference signals Vref0-Vref1 divided by the resistances R1-R4 are applied to the comparators 12-15. The original value is set for these reference signals by scanning the test chart of a plural number of tone wedges provided outside the effective picture region. For the comparators 12-15, the outputs D0-D3 are varied by the level of the video signal and then applied to the selection circuit 16. The circuit 16 is controlled by the design value operation control circuit 17 to which the control signal is supplied from the line 19. The signals Vref0-Vref1 are decided via the circuit 11 to give a control by the reference white and black original scan timing signals supplied from the line 19 so that the outputs D0-D3 is kept at a certain level during a scan of the original. |
