Decorative layer press bonding - using antistick cloth on diaphragm covering upper press plates

Decorative layers, specially veneer, is press bonded to a workpiece by laying the workpiece with the veneer on a lower heated press plate which can be raised by power cylinders against an upper heated press plate. The upper plate has a sealing frame and is covered by an elastic diaphragm. The diaphragm is covered on the side towards the veneer by an anti-stick cloth (woven PTFE threads) and on the side towards the plate by anti-stick powder (PTFE). This makes it possible to apply neat decorative layers on profiled workpieces, even those with re-entrant sections of the surface.
