<p>A device is used to align ligno-cellulose particles such as wood chips or fibres, mixed with at least one binder, for the production of a mat with parallel aligned particles. The material is passed through the slots, formed by contracotating parallel spindles. Drive elements on the surfaces of the spindles consists of inclined discs or spirals or just of roughened parts of the surface. A funnel passes the particles to the belt for the mat through an aligning device. The latter consists of parallel spindles which are supported in bearings and are driven by sprockets at alternate ends so that they rotate in opposite directions. The spindles can carry inclined discs or spirals and deposit the aligned fibres through guide plates on the belt. This device suffers very little wear but it results in a uniform and aligned deposition of the particles.</p> |
