Net capstan consisting of a driving drum 1 and a tension drum 2, over which travels a conveyor belt 3. The contour of the driving drum is configured with breaking edges 7, 13, 17, oriented toward the belt side, and it can engage with the conveyor belt 3, and perforations 9, 14, 15 at or near the breaking edges. The driving drum 1 is hollow and has a number of cut-outs 10 in one or both end plates 8, which can extend the full distance around the drum's contour. Ice floes forming on the lower portion of the belt will be smashed between the breaking edges 7, 13, 17 and the conveyor belt 3 and pass through the perforations 9, 14, 15 into the cavity of the drum, from which they are flushed out, for example, with water from the boat's bilge pump. <IMAGE>
