PURPOSE:To obtain a reproduced picture free from stains by determining whether dots to be inspected are stains or not through comparison of the dots with a surrounding state and by erasing a part determined to be stains. CONSTITUTION:A binary-form picture signal read by the raster scanning method is inputted in each of shift registers 21-28 and 31-39. The mutual positional relations at each level of the shift registers 21-28 and 31-39 coincide with positional relations on the original picture inputted. For example, in the case when it is determined whether a processed point Po stored in the 5th digit of the shift register 35 is a normal information or a stain, the outputs of points P1-P8 surrounding the point Po are examined and a logic sum of each point is operated in an AND circuit 41, and according to the output thereof the content of the shift register is normalized. |
