The locking buckle is for safety belts used in the back seat of a vehicle, and has a case (2) with an opening (3) in which a plate (4) is engaged. The case and the plate of at least two buckles are made so that the plate can only be engaged in its corresponding case and the buckles cannot be mixed up. The opening can have one groove (12) in which a corresponding rib (13) on the plate fits. Alternatively it can have two grooves so that the corresponding plate can be engaged in two positions.
