A static ignition device (10) for internal combustion engines is described. The most important features of the ignition device (10) consist in the fact that it comprises a transducer (29) which interacts with a corresponding trigger element (26) and supplies a pulse signal at every revolution of the crankshaft of the internal combustion engine, a static ignition circuit which comprises at least one semiconductor element (12) with controllable line state, one capacitor (13) and one coil (14), and one electronic control circuit (30) which has an input which is connected to the transformer (29) and an output which is connected to the control electrode of the semiconductor element (12) and to which it feeds a pulse signal which is delayed as a function of the frequency of the pulse signal supplied by the transducer (29). <IMAGE>
