The rotary cardan drive generates reciprocating movement of a thrust rod, the free end of the latter working in a guide. The guide for the free rod end is so suspended that it can move in all directions to allow adjustment in relation to the plane of rotation of the cardan mechanism. The joint between the latter and the rod also allows movement in all directions. The guide can be mounted in a ball or gimbal joint, and can be in the form of a ball or plain bearing. It can have a groove, accommodating a mating portion of the rod.
|
