<p>Method for the prepn. of coal, esp. of raw smalls to produce coking coal of a fixed max. permissible moisture and ash content, consists of five stages. After screening to an effective separating size of 0.5-2 mm, a wet cleaning by dense medium, jigs and dewatering is followed by drying to a free-running consistency. Dry-cleaning of the underflow from stage 1 by dry cleaning tables produces the concentrate which is added in the last stage to the smalls from stage 2. This procedure fully compensates for the increasing deterioration of the run-of-mine coal by rising moisture content (for dust suppression reasons), and rising fines and ash content (for mechanisation reasons).</p> |
