Windscreen wiper speed control for vehicle - uses signal from moisture sensor to adjust operating interval and control on-off switching

The control uses a moisture sensor (11) coupled to a regulator (12) for the drive motor (6) for the windscreen wipers. The regulator (12) is also coupled to a setting element (13) for the operating interval of the wipers and to an ON-OFF switch (14) for the wipers. The wiper blade (5) fits behind a cowling (8) extending adjacent the windscreen surface (21) in one end position with a vertical duct communicating with the channel defined by the cowling (8) and the windscreen (21) containing the moisture sensor. The control allows the windscreen to be kept clear when the rainfall is very heavy and when it is snowing and prevents operation of the wipers when the windscreen is dry.
