The burner, partic. for oil or gas, has a casing with devices, partic. a nozzle, for fuel-/combustible mixture-injection and, if necessary, for combustion-air supply. An enlarged portion of this casing forms a flame tube. The sidewall of this tube embodies apertures for tuning-out the flame zone and has a stabiliser in that zone. The apertures are distanced from the end of a mixing zone, partic. a mixing-tube, and the stabiliser is downstream of the apertures. Flame-, mixing-tube and stabiliser dia.s/lengths are so related that some combustion occurs outside the apertures.
