The actuator of the hand tool switch can be moved against a resetting spring force. The actuator (7) is rotatably mounted on a switch mechanism operating intermediate member (4) and movable against the force of a returning spring (13). The force is greater than that of the resetting spring (10), and the intermediate member is latched in the operating position by a holder (19). The holder is spring-loaded (20) and rotatably mounted on the switch. The intermediate member carries a delatching element (16), with the holder in its resetting movement range. The two springs are of coil type, with the ends, abutting the intermediate member, being on either side of a wall (12) or a strip on the intermediate member. The holder and the delatching element may be rotatable in opposite directions, with the free ends laterally overlapping.
