The display comprises LEDs and has several separate semiconductor regions. Each region has a given number of LEDs. The anodes or cathodes of the LEDs are designed as semiconductor zones set into one side into the semiconductor regions and whose conduction type is opposite to that of the semiconductor regions. The LEDs of one semiconductor region have a shared cathode (or anode). All electrodes of the LEDs are located on one surface of the semiconductor regions. The semiconductor regions are mounted onto a support via this surface. The support has conducting paths on the side facing the semiconductor regions in order to contact the LED electrodes.
