Surgical knife for tissue sample removal - has backwards angled blade at end of support rod, esp. for cancer verification, and has oscillation motor

The knife has a handle (2) fitted to the end of a support rod (1) with the blade (3) extending from the end of the latter at a sharp angle and bent back on itself. At least one edge of the blade is sharpened and the blade (3) is curved by a given radius. It is resiliently attached to the support rod (1) or the blade (3) and the support rod (1) are formed integrally. Pref. a shield (4) is fitted at the base of the support rod (1) to limit the penetration depth and it can be pref. slid along the latter to a required position before locking it in place. The support rod (1) may be associated with an electric coagulation terminal (6), or with an electric oscillation motor.
