PURPOSE:To obtain sharp copies by providing such a contrast adjusting device which permits depicting by adjusting contrast arbitrarily. CONSTITUTION:Even when there are unnecessary noises in an original 1, these noises are in many cases lower in density than characters, patterns, etc. and therefore the contrast is increased by adjusting a contrast adjusting device 4, whereby the unnecessary noises are made lower in density and if the original is inputted to a depicting device 5 and is copied after this, the copy 6 which is removed of the noises to the extent of offering virtually no hindrances in practical use is obtained. A density adjusting device 3 is for adjusting density level so as to prevent the contrast adjusting device from amplifying the noises by adjusting the densities in such a manner that noises lower down to below the reference level and the characters and patterns rise to above the reference level with respect to the reference level of the contrast adjusting device 4. |
