PURPOSE:To prevent a reflection on a junction surface, by condensing the radiation rays of an optical fiber once on the junction plug end face. CONSTITUTION:The lenses 3' and 4' are provided at the radiation side of the rays of optical fibers 1 and 2 to be connected together in order to form the image on the end face of the optical fiber on the end face of the plug. Thus the rays radiated from the optical fibers are condensed once on the junction face of the plug although the rays are hitherto radiated from the end of the plug in parallel to each other. As a result, the volume is reduced for the reflected rays that hit vertically the junction end face. Then an optical matching is carried out on the end face of the optical fiber by applying a nonreflection coating 7 on the radiation end face of the fiber ray, providing a glass plate 8 having nearly an equal refractive index to the optical fiber or using a substance that is filled with the medium 9 having the same reflective index as the optical fiber in place of the plate 8. In such way, an optical connector having a reduced volume of reflected rays can be obtained. |
