PURPOSE:To obtain a nonoffset type toner by containing a crosslinking agent and low mol.wt. polyolefin in a polymer composition and using an inorg. dispersant which charges to the polarity opposite to that of the polymer composition in water, in performing suspension polymerization in water. CONSTITUTION:Low mol.wt. polypropylene is added to a polymerizable monomer such as styrene and the mixture is subjected to heat treatment. A crosslinking agent such as triethylene glycol, a coloring agent, magnetic powder, a charge control agent, and an anionic or cationic polymerizable monomer which charges the polymerization composition to one polarity or a hardly-water-soluble amine and further a polymerization initiator, etc. are added to this liquid, whereby the polymer composition is obtained. The polymer composition is added to the dispersion of a dispersant, such as colloidal silica, which charges to the polarity opposite to that of the polymerization composition in water, whereby suspension polymerization is accomplished. This yields the spherical particles in which the low mol.wt. polyolefin is contained in the form of finely ground particles. |
