PURPOSE:To perform excellent development by sucking and removing only toner particles of relatively large grain size in a developer containing a liquid having residual toner, etc., removed after transfer. CONSTITUTION:An electrostatic latent image on electrostatic drum 1 is developed with a developer supplied into gap 2 of developing dish 3, and transferred at transfer part 12. Residual toners T1 and T2 on electrostatic drum 1 after the transfer are dropped on auxiliary disk 5 of the developing device. On auxiliary disk 5, excessive developer L1 is also dropped and further dropped L2 from the circumference of the auxiliary dish on receiving dish 6. Receiving dish 6 has recess part 6a in its center. The developer is spouted out of nozzle 18 into receiving dish 6 through pump 9 to generate a vortex flow, so that the toner of large grain size will gather in recess part 6a. This toner is sent to strong stirring device 22 via pipe 20 and pump 21 and, while cooled by coolers 24-26, made into toner of small size to perform excellent development. |
