PURPOSE:To reduce the optical trasmission loss and at the same time facilitate an easy assembling work, by providing in a slidable way a transparent and elastic matching member on the junction face of the optical fibers and in the longer direction. CONSTITUTION:The elastic connector 49 made of a transparent and elastic matching member having a lengthwise slit plus the sleeve 43 that guides the optical fiber holding tubes 47 and 47' are provided in the connector 42 having a flange 41. Then the cap nuts 50 and 50' are driven to give a pressure connection between the connecter 49 and the end faces 45 and 46 of the fibers 44 and 44' via the tubes 47 and 47'. Accordingly the deformation of the connector 49 does not have a thickness smaller than the holding plate 48 even though the cap nuts are driven too tight, thus avoiding an excessive pressure. In addition, the plate 48 can slide lengthwise owing to the slit of the sleeve 43 to ensure an automatic control for the balance between the right and left forces of connection pressure. This facilitate an easy assembling work of an optical connector. |
