PURPOSE:To read data through one sampling out of plural times even if the feed of documents fluctuates and read data accurately even when the conveyance speeds of documents fluctuates by enabling data to be read without using the timing signals corresponding to column positions. CONSTITUTION:The conveying rollers 4 of the reader of a card 1 are driven and controlled by a motor 5, whereby the card 1 is conveyed in the direction of the arrow. The supply of the card 1 to the conveyance path is detected by the 1st detector 6 provided to the beginning end part of this conveyance route and the conveyance of the card 1 to the reading position is detected by the 2nd detector 7. Sampling of the marks 3 of the card 1 is carried out twice, and this is carried out twice even in the blank space, so that the marks 3 may be sampled respectively once in the column 2 position and blank space position even if there is a change in the conveyance speed of the card 1 and the length of the card 1, whereby the omission in reading the marks 3 is eliminated and the accurate reading of data is accomplished. |
