CABLE TRACKING METHOD

PURPOSE:To surely perform confirmation of the location of a cable by detecting an AC magnetic field generated around the cable to which tracking is directed by means of a plurality of magnetic-field detecting sensors and by indicating the level of a detection signal. CONSTITUTION:A signal current is supplied from one end of the cable 5 to which tracking is directed by means of an AC signal supplying part 4, and the AC magnetic field generated thereby around the cable 5 is detected by the magnetic-field detecting sensor part 1. The magnetic-field detecting sensor part 1 is constituted by a plurality of magnetic-field detecting coils arranged so that the maximum-sensitivity directions of detecting directivity thereof are coincident with each other. The output signal of the magnetic-field detecting sensor part 1 is inputted in a signal processing- indicating part 3 through the intermediary of a signal-receiving part 2, whereby the position of the cable 5 is indicated.
