PURPOSE:To perform measurement of a length with high precision by measuring the length by using the long span and the short span as units and thereby reducing accumulation of errors. CONSTITUTION:When the tip of the long body 1 comes to a point where the 1st marker 2 is positioned, the 1st mark is put on the long body 1. When the long body 1 advances by a distance L and comes to the position of a mark detector 3, the detector 3 detects the mark on the long body 1. A counter-processor 6 counts the long span L. When the tail end of the body 1 passes the position of the 1st marker 2, the 1st marker 2 stops marking and the marking is conducted by the 2nd marker 5. This mark is detected by the mark detector 3 and the counter-processor 6 counts the short span l. Based on these counted values, the counter-processor 6 calculates the length of the long body 1. |
