The monitor comprises a special microcollection section (1), a gas chromatograph (2), a flame-photometric detector (3), a self-balancing recorder (4), a calibration source (11), a flow controller (8), a suction pump (10), various pipes and valves (5-7) connecting these elements and a control system (12) which initiates, in a cyclic sequence, the rinsing of collection section (1) and chromatograph (2), the enrichment of the substance to be detected in the collection section (1) and, finally, the desorption and gas-chromatographic analysis of the substance to be detected. The combination of microcollection section (1) and gas chromatograph make possible the selective detection of even extremely small amounts of substance down to about 10<-7> % by volume. <IMAGE>
