摘要 Compression-crimped synthetic silk consisting of thermoplastic is subjected in thread-plug form to thermal aftertreatment. For this purpose, an aftertreatment drum (14) of adjustable rotational speed and at least one compression chamber (10) are used. A delivery unit (11) of adjustable rotational speed, arranged between the compression chamber or compression chambers and the aftertreatment drum, serves for conveying the thread plug or thread plugs of crimped multifilament synthetic silk, formed in each compression chamber, out of the compression chamber or compression chambers and, after passage through a free zone, towards the aftertreatment drum. Once arrived there, each continuously delivered thread plug runs in an approximately tangential direction onto the gas-permeable casing of the rotating aftertreatment drum cylinder and is transported through the aftertreatment zone by the latter in the form of helical thread-plug turns lying closely to one another and free of radial pressure. The thread material is either heated or cooled. The gaseous treatment medium flows through the helical thread plug turns of the treatment material in the radial direction. The opening of the thread plug or thread plugs to form crimped synthetic threads takes place at the end of the aftertreatment drum. A tension-free, uniform thermal treatment of the synthetic silk delivered at a high feed speed, along with a sufficient dwell time, is made possible in this way. <IMAGE>
