PURPOSE:To form a distinct image which is easy of view for an original having gradation and contrast by forming the image as for a part of one original with the gradation different from other part. CONSTITUTION:An operation part 30 indicates a specified range where the gradation in the original is altered and the image out of the indicated range is formed on the material to be transferred with one gradation by varying the surface potential of an image carrier. And the image within the range indicated by an indication means is formed on the material to be transferred with another gradation by varying the surface potential of the image carrier. For example, in the part of the original G, which is out of the range indicated by the operation part 30, the image, whose gamma value is large, of high contrast is formed and in the part within the range indicated by the operation part 30, the image, whose reproductivity or photograph is excellent, of high gradation is formed. Thus, the distinct image which is easy of view can be formed for the original having the gradation and the contrast. |
