The solar collector module consists of an absorber (3) provided with water tubes (4) for the thermal fluid. The absorber is installed on an insulated bed (5) and covered with a transparent, air-tight cover (6) whose longitudinal edges have flanges (11,12). The cover is ribbed to give increased rigidity. The ends of the collector have closure plates through which pass the thermal fluid flow and return pipes. Several modules may be laid side by side with the flanges abutting one another and ballast or concrete infilled them.
