PURPOSE:To suppress the brightness of the background in the measurement of finely divided particles by finely adjusting a cell volume adjusting part while observing the settling state on a television monitor surface prior to measurement of number of particles after introducing samples and tightly closing. CONSTITUTION:A cell base 44 is engaged with tubular members 45, 46 for introduction and discharging of samples in the upper part thereof. A measuring cell small chamber 47 is the space between the end parts of said tubular members 45, 46. The cover glass 48 at the end of the spindle 49 of a micrometer head 14 which adjusts the depth of the cell small chamber 47 is flat-platelike transparent glass which forms the bottom of the cell small chamber. The timble 54 of a micrometer is fixed to the cell base 44 by means of an L type fitting using screws 53. With this constitution, the spindle 49 slides finely in vertical directions. If the spindle 49 is formed as a hollow shaft and a light absorbing material is stuck on the inside wall thereof, light trap effect by which scattered light is perfectly absorbed is provided. |
