<p>The blind has two risers (1), two traverses (2) and overlapping horizontal blades (5), the latter having tenons (4) at the centre of their ends which fit into countersunk mortises (3) cut into the risers at regular intervals. The tenons are slightly larger than the mortises so that a tight fit is obtained without glue or nails, the mortises being sunk at the desired blade angle. The longitudinal edges of the blades are moulded and the aesthetic appearances of the shutter is enhanced if the edges of the risers and traverses are rounded or dressed.</p> |
