<p>The lightning conductor has a lower resistance and better penetration than a rod of the same diameter. It consists of a stake with a cylindrical core and ribs delimited by V grooves inscribing a circle of one and a half times the core diameter, this ratio optimises the buckling resistance. The ends of the stake are turned down to a cylinder with a conical point so that two rods may be joined by a sleeve to extend the rod, the sleeve having the same outer diameter as the rod. Contact between all the lateral surface of the rod and ground is maintained reducing the electrical resistance. The cable is connected to the rod by clamping it in a groove.</p> |
