The invention relates to a method of producing stitched brochures with simultaneous feeding of envelopes and/or inserts in web-fed rotary printing machines. The object of the invention is the development of a technique for brochure production which allows brochures to be produced in one production line with envelopes of any desired colouring, different thickness, different dimensions, and with inserts of different sizes. The object is achieved in that preprinted blanks of paper, cardboard or plastic are fed from one or more sheet feeders to the printing carrier web, to partial sections or to portions of the printing carrier web in the form of envelopes and/or inserts within one production line.
