The hexagonal carton which can be made from a one piece cardboard blank, has the hexagonal top (23) and base (11) joined by a rectangular strip between parallel fold lines when flat. This strip then forms one (95) of the sides when erected. Projecting from this strip is a tab at each end which are later joined together to form the final junction between the side panels. Also projecting at right angles from opposite edges of the other parts of the strip forming the sides, are larger flaps (83) which respectively reinforce the base and lid when folded over horizontally. The container is completed by two narrow flaps (91) on the lid and a single narrow flap (61) on one side.
