The automatic toaster consists of an elongated horizontal box-shaped housing with an opening at one end, where slices of bread may be inserted, and an exit opening for the slices at the other end. The slices of bread are fed in automatically from a stack, and two vertically spaced horizontal conveyors transport them from one end to the other of the housing. Electric resistance heaters are positioned around the conveyor to toast the bread slices, and guides prevent the bread from touching the heaters. A time delay circuit allows the heaters to warm up before energising the motor of the conveyor.
